We are seeking a Python/FastAPI Development Lead with strong expertise in FastAPI to join an exciting Reinforcement Learning (RL) Gym project. The role involves designing, building, and optimizing scalable APIs, collaborating with researchers and engineers, and delivering robust backend services for reinforcement learning experiments and simulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain FastAPI-based services for experimentation workflows and simulation environments.
- Collaborate with ML engineers to expose APIs for training, evaluation, and benchmarking.
- Write efficient, production-grade Python code emphasizing scalability and maintainability.
- Troubleshoot performance issues and ensure smooth deployment of applications.
Requirements:
- 8+ years of professional experience in Python development.
- 5+ years of hands-on expertise in FastAPI for scalable backend systems.
- 4+ years of team leadership experience managing teams of 5+ developers.
- Strong experience with RESTful API design, asynchronous programming, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Proficiency with NumPy, Pandas; familiarity with PyTorch or TensorFlow preferred.
- Experience with SQL and/or RL environments (OpenAI Gym, Gymnasium, Stable Baselines) is a plus.
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
